Is it worth it to restore a 1952 Harley Hummer?

I have the option of restoring a bike of this nature and I was wondering if it would be worth it? Where can I find parts and stuff for it if I do decide to do this project?|||What do you mean by "worth it"? Will you get your money out? That depends on what you started with, and what kind of restoration you do. I have seen guys spend $3500 on a full boat restoration of a small 2-stroke.

Only rarely will the market allow you to make much money. If the bike is fairly interesting, like a Puch twingle, you might break even. The Hummer is not technically interesting. The only thing it has going for it is the Harley name. Without that, a perfect one might be worth $500-1000. The Harley name probably puts it in a range where you might get your money out.

Now, if you are asking if the project is worth it in terms of pride and satisfaction, then I'd say that is why most restorers are into it.|||1952 HARLEY-DAVIDSON M/S 125 HUMMER 125cc:

Excellent: $5,100

Very Good: $2,750

Good: $1,650

Fair: $1,000

Poor: $700

Hope this gives you a ballpark figure on value.|||It is certainly worth it!You can find parts at swap meets,The best I've seen are motorcycle vintage days.Go toAmericanMotorcyclist.com for info on dates .One in Cal.,one in Ohio.

Why do people buy a large SUV or a Hummer?

Since 9/11, when it got clear to the last idiot, that we support the terrorists with our thirst for oil, I have seen actually more people getting gaz guzzling behemoth then ever. What are they for? My Mini Van gets 28 miles to the gallon, rides more comfortalbe and has more space then any of this truck like dinosaurs.|||people wanna look cool and show that they can try to afford to put the gas in those things|||Some SUVs are purchased as status symbols, with the Cadillac Escalade as the most prominent example, by showing that someone has the resources to not care how much their vehicle costs to purchase or refuel. Others are used for their named purpose, of sport utility, by outdoor sports enthusiasts who enjoy the large cargo capacity along with a high ground clearance and 4WD for off-road driving.

Please, however, keep politics in the political discussion areas.|||too look rich and fly as hell|||convenience|||Most of the SUV's that I see are usually bought by families who have two or more children.

People buy Hummers just to be noticed.|||I drive a Hummer and I get 19 mpg's....thats better than A LOT of vehicles out there. I got it because it is awesome and I absolutely love it.|||there just trying to keep up with the jones(a clear case of one

up manship ) and then they get the attitude (i got a suv ,and i own the road) and when they pass me i let them know that

there number one with me (even though i use the wrong finger

to let them know that).|||Well, one man's food is another man's poison...it depends on each person's taste and choice. I do not like a mini van at all. Thank you.

If you are so worried about the saving gas, mileage etc I would say you should immediately sell your mini van and buy some bicycles or try walking to wherever you can possibly walk to. All the very best.|||different people have differnt taste in cars? i personally like suv because i think they look better also cause im tall and im lazy to bend down to get into a car =x and suv are more convients for family of 5+ hummers are fun because of there high suspension?|||Thank God it's still a free country where you can buy whatever you can afford.

Many people favor larger vehicle because they need the room for their families, towing capacity, hauling groceries and other supplies, etc. If you have a large family it's tuff to cram them into a Hyundai. And many folks use their cars for work and play. Towing a boat, snowmobile, camper, etc. isn't a job for a small car.

I have large and small vehicles...I own two class 8 trucks (A peterbilt and an International). I also own two British Triumphs which are pretty small. My daily driver is a 6 cylinder Ford F-150 and a Lincoln Continental. My Lincoln gets 26 MPG on the highway. I can live with that.|||Take this tear jerker to the Politics section please.....

How do i take the dash apart in my hummer h2?

I bought a carbon fiber dash that replaces the existing piece how ever i can't seem to figure out how to get the handle that is by the passenger side airbag off... please help...|||in the back of the owners manual there is a order form for repair manuals for your specific gm vehicle these are not crappy hains manuals these are the real deal vehicle you are driving repair manuals they are a little pricey but hey you own a hummer are you really worried about price i recommend getting them if you are going to do any heave work on your vehicle trust me they are the best thing since sliced bread if you cant get them from the book as the dealer. another rout is get the dealer or garage to disable it temp|||you dont! take it in or that airbag is gonna knock you into a coma|||put a ied in the drivers seat!!!!|||It's not a job you want to tackle, I've done it and it really sucks, but if your determined, start by removing the ceter console and then the center panel of the dash,

Be sure to disable the airbags by removing the fuse for the srs, and disconnecting the battery. good luck

Does anyone know where i can rent a pink hummer limo in temecula california?

i am having a sweet 16 and i wanted a pink limo

but cant find one? any ideas?|||rihannaFAN678, I used a Hummer limo last month for my roomate's prom party. Although I'm not near California, I found a good list of resources here: http://www.limoservicepro.com/California鈥?/a> Maybe one of your local limosine service companies can help give you recommendations for your event.

Good Luck!|||You might find a pink hummer limo from any of the limo companies from this directory. http://www.limoquoter.com/directory/loca鈥?/a>|||Hi, Try a search at http://www.LimoXonline.com|||you gotta be rich

What do anyone think of the Hummer HX Concept?

To me it's alright but, to me it's just another not-so-hummer vehicle as the H! was and always will be.

What do ya'll think?|||hate it, waste of money and gas!|||i love it! i think its the best looking one! two door hardcore offroad suv which gets better mileage than the regular h2.

What games to play in a Hummer Limo?

I'm having my 13th birthday party on Friday, %26amp; We're having a Hummer Limo pick us up from school early, take us out to eat%26amp; then to Carowinds [local amusment park]. But the ride to Carowinds is about 2 hours from start to finish. There are going to be girls and guys there but I dont know what fun games to play, no kiddy ones.

Some bad dares/dies would be good too(:

Your estimate of how much my hummer would cost?

For my 12th I wont to take 10 of my friends in a hummer ( possibly pink ) to a shopping center just out of town , after doing two stops on the way to here to collect my friends. How much to you think this would cost ? I'm gunna try and phone up later cuzz i couldnt get threw|||Well it's impossible to take 10 friends in a hummer because it is a 7 passenger unless you make your friends sit on each others laps. If you want a hummer limo it would cost around 90000 to 80000.|||Well you got a H1, H2, H3 and a H3T in the hummer line, But as far as 10 friends packed into a hummer you are talking about a H2 strech limo, rental will run you about 125 to 200 for 3-4 hrs

BUT again the H2 looks cool but not much in the way of comfort with leg and head room. Have you ever thought of a party bus or van? Lots of stand up room and during the day you can get a lower rate than at night, and it should run about 75 to a 100 more than the H2|||The money would be better spent on spelling, grammar and punctuation lessons. It would run several hundred dollars and would be an absolute waste of resources.|||you mean renting a hummer limosine?

Now that GM is selling Hummer to a Chinese company will we be able to buy them for $5000?

Without the union wages, and funding needed for the retirement packages Hummers should be dirt cheap! How will Obama Motors compete with that?|||I agree that without the union wages, and funding for the retirement packages Hummers should be dirt cheap. Why did our government give $100 Billion to GM? For what reason? They are now bankrupt and the money is long gone. Is anyone asking when it will be paid back? Is the media asking? When will the media confront Obama for this insanity, corruption and hypocrisy?Where is the outrage from the taxpayers? Only one in five agree to the bailout - where are the other four out of five? Where is the outrage? We the taxpayers must wake up! o_O|||Good point. But I still would not buy one.|||No the Taliban have secured all the advance orders

Hopefully there will be some 2020 Models available.|||Just watch out for the lead paint.|||I am holding out for my Obamamotors Vega.|||They will be smaller, get better gas mileage, and be more affordable.|||Government Made (GM) is going to have trouble competing with such a streamlined work force and manufacturing process. Obama has his special interest groups to look out for.|||hmmmm.......

lets see, i have 2 Toyota 4x4's, and you could not touch them for $5,000.00......!

i have a Jeep 4x4 Liberty Sport that lost half its Value when i drove it of the lot.........

the Toyotas are each 8 yeras old and worth as much as the Liberty now........

Go figure~!|||maybe but id advise against going over any bumps it may fall apart|||Maybe not that cheap, but they would be cheaper. However, I doubt that they would be available in the US. The Hummer barely made emissions and safety standards in the US when made by GM. How could the Chinese do better since they don't care much for either.

My prediction is that they won't be available in the US for a while. When they are, they will be so different no one will recognize them.

Should I trade a 2006 hummer h3 for a 2005 Infiniti g35 coupe?

The hummer h3 has almost 53k miles and has a touchscreen upgraded 16" wheels. The 05 Infiniti g35 coupe has almost 54k has 20" wheels exhaust and is lowered. Should I trade? I have own the h3 right now.|||If you have a chance to do this deal, go for it. The G35 coupe is a very nice car.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace the exhaust manifold gasket on a 6.5L turbo deisle H1 hummer?

pain in the butt, take it to a pro or spend at least a weekend trying yourself|||Yes I do know.|||if it is a diesel motor then you need to take that ride to the dealer and get a guarantee on the repair --- it is not a shade tree job ... you could go to a muffler shop and it is possible that you can get a cheaper price ,,,,,,,, but ,,,,, we know you get the quality of work that you pay for .........

Should I trade my hummer h3 for a Toyota supra?

I have a 2006 hummer h3 with 51k miles with a little upgrades and i was wondering should I trade it for a 1994 Toyota supra with 81k. Original miles with a little upgrades too. The owner of the supra wants 1k cash with the trade. I'm a huge supra fan should I do it?|||Yes, Hummer's are horrible.|||If it's a Supra Turbo, it's a great trade value-wise for you even if you have to throw in $1K cash. A 1994 Supra Turbo in excellent shape can bring upward of $24K, even in 2010. Your Hummer is worth about $17K according to kbb.com in excellent condition.

If it's a non-turbo 1994 Supra it's another story entirely. The non-turbo '94 is only worth about $14K in excellent condition, so you'd be losing value in the trade even if you didn't hand the guy cash + your car in trade. Don't make that trade, even if you like Supras, unless you also enjoy losing money.

As for whether you should trade for a 1994 Supra if you're going to use it as your only car and daily driver over a 2006 H3, I probably wouldn't if the Supra will be your only car. 17 model-years old is still 17 years old and I wouldn't rely on a 17 year old car as my only source of transport (even if it was really sweet looking...). If I were looking at it as a 2nd car, then I'd be more interested if it were me.|||Yes, because the supra is the best sports car ever made for the money.|||Yes everything is better than a Hummer!

What would be a fair price to charge per ticket if I raffled off a hummer for Gay Rights?

Would you pay 100 bucks for a hummer? I know they're not the most ecofriendly vehicles but if I look good in one imagine how good you'd look.|||You don't even want to know what the first thing I thought when I read that was. lol.|||Yeah $100 sounds good!|||I'd defiantly turn heads driving one down the streets of Sydney, especially with left hand drive. If I won it it would cost me a arm and leg to have it shipped over and to have it registered and green slipped. Yes I'd buy a ticket what the hey, the money's going towards a good cause and I'd give the hummer to an US LGBT organization that really needed a vehicle to collect food or deliver food or move furniture for persons living with HIV/AIDS.|||How much for a hummer in a Hummer?|||I'd pay $100 for a Hummer. That's not a bad price at all, for even a chance. And it goes for a good cause.|||Forget the car. You could probably make more money by agreeing to accept hummers for $10 a pop.|||Maybe take the "green" route and raffle off a Prius, or something. The $100 won't even fill a gas tank for the Hummer!!|||sure, $100 is a good price if you intend to sell only 1 or 2 k tickets ,if you think you can sell more and depending on the dynamics of the social-economics $100 or perhaps more.

all the best.|||Dayum, my mind started out in the gutter.... I'm a bad grrl.

You'd have to figure out how many tickets you'd sell, how much it would cost to buy the thing, and how much money you want to raise to give to charity.|||You need Jesus

How many passengers does a 2008 hummer have?

Doesn't matter what model.. just how many people does it normally hold ? And also a rang rover from 2008 ?|||Well, I see the highest is 6 on regular models. On models with third row seats can probably hold up to 8 occupants.

What is the MOS job for the army soldier who is the Hummer driver?

I was wondering if this is a specific MOS or just 11x infantry and you just switch around who is driving. Most info i have about the army or any military is band of brothers and generation kill. But I am very interested in joining, probably as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, but I really would like to see combat.

Please excuse my ignorance and thanks for any info.

-David|||There isn't necessarily a specific HMMWV (Humvee) driver job. While there are Motor Transport Operator (MOS 88M) jobs, that doesn't mean you will drive Humvees exclusively. Just about anyone can drive a Humvee if they are licensed for one. MP's, Communications, Medics, and all sorts of personnel who don't have "driver" as their job description drive Humvees.|||88M|||MOS are pretty generic regarding driving. For the Marines and Army you'll get a rating when you do an engineer or mechanic MOS but it's part of your IF training.|||almost everyone in the army has a liscence to drive a humvee.

each squad uses its own guys to drive. if you're in a infantry platoon, it will be an infantryman driving (11x is infantry recruit, once you hit training you'll be made either an 11b or an 11c). if your in a supply unit, it will be 88Ms or other support MOSs driving.

if your in a cav scout platoon it will be 19Ds driving

im sure you get the point

as for how they handle who exactly drives: thats a unit by unit thing. some units make their new guys drive so the "old timers" can take care of manning the turret and being able to do dismount. others use an experience specialist who's less likely to hit something or flip the vehicle or get stuck than a FNG (F'n New Guy) is. its a unit by unit issue.|||The driver of a vehicle in a particular unit is typically one of the soldiers in that unit that was chosen to drive. 88M's are not typically assigned to infantry units to drive a HMMWV or Fire Fighting units to drive the fire truck.

What kind of wheel adapters i need.i have a jeep grand cherokee and i want to put hummer wheels on my jeep?

my husband has a jeep grand cherokee either a 96 or 98 and was given a set of hummer wheels but he said he needed wheel adapters to put the hummer wheels on. i figured it would be a good xmas gift but i have no clue what type of wheel adapters i need or where to start...lol please help??!?! :)|||4wheelparts.com will sell them

you need to go from 5 lug Jeep to 6 lug Chevrolet. The adapters are not cheap at all and will space out the wheels a couple inches. Keep that in mind before you buy them.|||What kind of Hummer are the wheels from? If they are from an H2 you will need a 5x114.3 to 8x6.5 adapter. Most adapters are going to be thick. That coupled with the offset of the hummer wheels will most likely cause the tire to hit the fender/bumper when turning. There is much more to getting wheels and tires to fit than the right bolt pattern. Also, if they are from an H2 and came with tires the tires will be way too large unless the Jeep has been lifted at least 8.5 inches.

I am looking for a stretch hummer or F Truck limo. does anyone know where to find one?

I live in Morayfield Queensland and am getting married next May. I love F Trucks and would like one as the bridal car.|||If you look on eBay they might have something you would want, otherwise you could call a local company around your city and see if they have one they could sell you.

Need some ideas for a really cool aftermarket paint job for a Hummer H3?

I really like flat black and would do that all over if i could but i want something more unique like a mix up of flat black and black. By the way flat black as in matte black. I also like white on black too any ideas are appreciated thanks!|||My moms big truck use to have a sticker that said BACK OFF and so many people tried to race her lol...stripes maybe|||Im not a Decall person or anything but first just get flat black. Anything you can get black. Now do a Like a Stripe in dark gray so its barley noticable. Now dont use like pure white but now put ur next stripe on the top so it looks like a shadow

How much does it cost to go all flat black on a hummer sut?

Just curious how much does it cost? I'm thinking 5k?? About right?|||You could do it for $50 with crappy spray paint but it will look terrible and peel off in a few weeks.

Go talk to some paint places and get some prices.|||5k would be about right. And it would have to be repainted everytime a bird pooped on it. If you live in an aread where they salt the roads, that would also stain it and you would have to have it painted everytime it came in contact with saltwater. Flat black can only be hand washed using specialized detergents. Not practical for a daily driver.
